Facilitating Change

Facilitating Change

Dissemination is the process of sharing evidence-based interventions among the relevant individuals for action. A research study is incomplete until the finding of the study is distributed to the relevant professional bodies, which recommend how the finds are to be translated into a clinical application (Rapport et al., 2017). During data analysis, the researcher addresses the aim of the study and research question relevant to the problem’s research background and its importance. The study findings influence education, policy, clinical practice, and the future of research. After data interpretation, the data is distributed to relevant stakeholders and policymakers to implement the findings. The dissemination of research findings enhances the effectiveness of change implementation in clinical practice. The “planned or targeted parts of dissemination” are often reflected by strategic thinking about how to effectively and efficiently reach a wider audience (Rapport et al., 2017).

Effective communication is essential for the implementation of research findings during the implementation of new clinical practices. Communication is central to the implementation process and may significantly help facilitate implementation (Albright et al., 2021). Five communication strategies can be used in facilitating change. First, the researcher should communicate the basis of the new practice to their audience. Secondly, the communication should be detailed with the essential procedural knowledge of the new clinical practice. Thirdly, the researcher should use different media of communication to communicate the change in practice like newspapers and social media (Albright et al., 2021). Also, the researcher should give the audience ample time to read through the clinical practice and familiarize themselves with the new practice. Lastly, the communication process used by the researchers should give room for bidirectional engagement between them and their target audience (Albright et al., 2021).
