Exploring Quality Metrics and UML Diagrams for Software Testing Strategies

Other Quality Metrics Different Organizations Use to Define Their Success?

Outsourcing has introduced the possibility of non-viable solutions due to inappropriate software installation that tags along unnecessary costs thereby birthing metrics that are used to evaluate the efficiency of software before engaging in contractual relationships leading to software acquisition (Iqbal et al., 2020). Moreover, the stepwise acquisition procedure provides step-enabling evaluation through built-in metrics based on the objectives of the entity. The first fundamental metric, other than the five core metrics, is the cost of quality. This provides the basis for analyzing the quality of investment against the actual cost incurred. The overall cost also includes the appraisal costs involving testing for quality and auditing and prevention costs which entails the training of personnel to use the acquired software. When all these costs are accumulated, they should provide value for the acquired software. The second metric is customer returns and complaints. True success is established in being able to provide services and products that amount to clientele satisfaction. This can only be figured out based on customer rejects and the average cost used in resolving the issues. Therefore, success can only be graded when customers are satisfied, thus maximizing profits.

How UML Diagram Can Be Useful in Creating Different Test Strategy

I think diagrams present a viable way of representing software at different levels as they give a more detailed graphical description. Moreover, diagrams depict the structures wholly, including elements and relevant relationships, therefore touching on the basic factors tested in software, including software elements, relations and prevailing properties. The UML diagram, therefore, will provide a blueprint consistent with the designs as the project progresses (Torre et al., 2018). In the project, it will be used to visualize the progress of the system as it would depict the components and subcomponents of the software.
