Experimental Research Design
Experimental research design can provide valuable findings in the social sciences field since this research process involves conducting research in an objectively controlled manner. If at all possible, the aim is to achieve maximum conclusions that are specific with regard to a hypothesis statement. In this case, improving coping skills in parents. Based on the placebo intervention, the act of intervening has a perceived or actual effect on the participant’s condition. Essentially, this suggests that in the process of improving the coping skills in parents, certain conditions have to be employed. These conditions include spending time with them, showing them that you care, both through actions and words and supporting their interests (Grasley, 2016). This perspective is a replica of a patient taking a pill since they believe that it makes them feel better.
On the other hand, it is important to note that experimental research involves new interventions, and hence, individuals may respond differently to these interventions, unlike in controlled groups. As such, it becomes vital to the way the options of how well the research design presents the research process being conducted. The participants need not be aware of what the researcher aims to find out, and hence, the blinding process assists in achieving this (Sheremeta, 2018). For that reason, the experimental research design can significantly assist in improving the coping skills of parents as long as the research parameters are designed in a way that makes them feel involved or are participatory in nature. Through this, certain behaviors, attitudes, and ideologies can be observed and used in the process of creating interventions that enhance their coping skills.
