Exemption of Quality Improvement Initiatives

Exemption of Quality Improvement Initiatives

There are goals that every health organization has to set to achieve its mission and vision. A health organization aims to provide better health outcomes with consistent professional knowledge. This can be achieved through quality improvement. However, medical errors occur, resulting in the health organization’s faulty processes and systems (Kohn & Donaldson, 2000). The healthcare sector is complex and requires constant upgrading and training to enhance skills. The health sector should aim to provide effective health care; perform safe procedures to rescue the lives of the patients. The health organization should also be efficient and equitable. This allows the health organization to improve its quality better.

The health organization must improve quality by focusing on the patient’s health. Health organizations are exempted from quality improvement initiatives because they provide basic and minimal services to patients. There are various reasons why it can be left out. Different types of hospitals offer first aid to patients and support until they are transferred to hospitals with better health equipment and skilled doctors (Kohn & Donaldson, 2000). The reason why health organizations are measuring the quality of health care is to be able to determine the effect that health care has on the outcome at the same time ensuring customer satisfaction. Hospitals should be able to provide quality services; hence it is the work of the government to ensure that each hospital is well-equipped. Quality of improvement has various advantages to the health organization.
