Prakash Chand is an entrepreneur based in Toronto, Ontario. He gained recognition as one of the best entrepreneurs in the medical sector after establishing Premier Canada Maid Service, the largest privately owned residential cleaning service in Canada (Crunchbase, 2022). After establishing the New York Maid Service, He expanded the business into New York. In 2014, he co-founded the online medical platform Ask The Doctor. The business focuses on offering health-related information at a small fee. The platform was embraced and recognized in the medical field after the Nepal earthquake in 2015. It enabled people to access medical advice for two months because most could not access healthcare facilities. In 2016, the platform was globally acknowledged as the world’s first healthcare platform to accept Bitcoin payment as it focused on maintaining client anonymity because some clients use the platform to get sensitive medical information.
Prakash’s competitive advantage is partnering with a team of dedicated individuals willing to contribute ideas on improving the Ask The Doctor platform to meet customer needs effectively. Being a team player is one of the personal attributes that contributed to his success. He collaborated with other doctors to develop the Ask The Doctor platform and improve it to meet customer needs. The second personal attribute is being a risk taker. For example, he sold a large part of the New York Maid Service company in 2012 to focus on developing the Ask The Doctor platform. The third attribute is being visionary. Prakash believes that the Ask The Doctor platform will be the leading global platform that people will use for reassurance, direction, and advice about medical concerns (Crunchbase, 2022). Prakash’s partners, Dr Q Dhalla, Patrick A. Golden, Israel Idonije, and Dikembe Mutombo, have helped him become successful by assisting him in developing the Ask The Doctor platform. The Nepal earthquake was also vital to Prakash’s success because it created awareness of the Ask The Doctor platform’s role and effectiveness in providing patient consultation.
