Discussion – CSR and DEI in Your Project Team

Discussion – CSR and DEI in Your Project Team

What steps are you going to take to promote CSR initiatives?

To promote CSR initiatives, programs that promote access to education, economic activities that benefit community members, and environmental preservation. Education programs will target young community members from families that lack significant financial resources. Providing access to education should ensure that all children and youths are enlightened. Providing economic activities to the community residents allows them to gain economic resources. This eases the process of supporting their families and reduces poverty. Promoting environmental conservation alongside community members creates sustainability for the entire community and the company as well.

How do you plan to attract, develop, engage, and reward your project team?

To attract the project team, I intend to seek individuals who are enthusiastic about CSR activities. Their engagement in these activities should be evident through their career or extracurricular activities. Training the individuals will be critical for the development of their skills and knowledge. Various programs will be created for training. This will ensure that the individuals are skilled sufficiently to carry out their responsibilities.

To engage employees who are hired for the projects, the company will carry out performance management activities (Engidaw, 2021). Through these performance management activities, the individuals will be included in the continuous development of these projects. The setting of goals will be inclusive leading to greater commitment (Engidaw, 2021). The reward system will allow the individuals to gain greater morale after accomplishing their goals. The rewards are intended to motivate the individuals to work towards the established goals. Furthermore, the ability to choose the elements of the reward system should ensure that the individuals gain rewards that are meaningful.

Discussion - CSR and DEI in Your Project Team

Discussion – CSR and DEI in Your Project Team

Carl Kaysen, an American academic known for coining the phrase “the soulful corporation” to define new, more responsible large companies, believed said companies’ goal was no longer ROI. He proposed that these modern companies identify and target the much larger goal of being responsible not only to stockholders but to all. In today’s world, companies like UPS have mapped deliveries to make as many right turns as possible in order to save time, protect employees, save fuel, and reduce emissions. The NFL, Salesforce, and Walgreens have stepped up their DEI strategies to avoid bias in hiring and promotion of underrepresented groups.

With this in mind, for your initial post, describe the makeup of your project team. Then, address the following questions about your proposed strategy:

What steps are you going to take to promote CSR initiatives? For example: what community programs, nonprofits, or environmental projects will the new product or service support?
How do you plan to attract, develop, engage, and reward your project team?
