Dear Parents,

I am so glad to have the opportunity to teach your children. It is a great honor to have you entrust this institution with your children, and I believe they are in the best hands in my care. So, let me tell you a little about me, my goals this year, and how I will take care of your kids.

My name is Alesia Shambry. I live in a small town called West Point, MS, and I love working as a preschool assistant teacher at Monroe Early Learning Collaborative, where I have taught for eight years. I graduated with an AA degree from ICC and am completing my bachelor’s at MUW. I am engaged with two children, Jayden and Jayceon, and my favorite candies are Now and Later and Payday. I have several hobbies, some of which I believe will help train the children, including drawing. I have been drawing since childhood, which is more of a talent than a learned skill. However, over the years, I have learned a lot about drawing, and most importantly, I am happy to transfer my skills to these children. Drawing can significantly help your child become creative by activating their imagination. Another of my hobbies tends to be painting, which I am very good at. As such, transferring this skill to the children will be easy, and it will help them express their emotions and ideas, utilize their senses, and, most importantly, explore different colors. Other hobbies comprise traveling and crossword puzzles.

My goals this year include helping the children develop socially, physically, and cognitively and gaining appropriate skills, such as solving disagreements and being kind to others. Children tend to grow at different rates, and you can feel comfortable with whatever rate your child is growing and trust me to consider the needs of each child. Special attention will be given to each child to determine things that they may require. Language development is also vital at this stage; thus, every child will emphasize this. Including all children is critical in this institution, and kids from different backgrounds are welcome. I also intend to teach the children the significance of accepting each other regardless of differences. Consistently, parents whose children do not speak English should feel at ease because my goal comprises navigating this aspect and making sure they start learning English. However, the guardians should talk in English to make things easier. Most importantly, I intend to inspire the children to learn and believe in themselves.

Although we meet all these needs, caring for the children is significant in this learning institution. I will ensure they are managed by ensuring they are healthy and engage in practices that improve their health conditions. As such, they will be provided with healthy foods daily, baby-friendly exercises, and consistent participation in play. If they have any health issues, the school nurse will be ready to examine them, but the parent will be immediately informed. Additionally, potty training will be available for children who are not fully trained. Parents can pack changing clothes for kids who may wet themselves during the day. Otherwise, I am very excited to have your child in my class this year and look forward to learning more about them. You can be assured that I will do everything I can to ensure they develop appropriately.
