Juvenile delinquency leads to the arrests of youths and young people from the teen years and later. These arrests follow the unlawful actions of young people. Initially, the majority of juvenile delinquents were male, but there has been an increase in the number of female juvenile delinquents. Additionally, most of the female juvenile arrests result from offenses that are aggressive in nature. Subsequently, various elements contribute to the increase in female juvenile delinquents, including individual age, childhood trauma, and psychological and mental conditions; additionally, countermeasures can be implemented to curb the effects of these elements on young people (Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, 2010).

Various factors and elements contribute to the increase in the number of young female delinquents. The first contributing element is age since most young females are either approaching adolescence or adolescence. Consequently, behavioral changes associated with puberty are considered contributing elements to delinquency. The second contributing element is childhood trauma, which is associated with factors such as carnal assault and physically abusive environments. Many aspects of childhood trauma contribute to the unlawful behavior of most young people in their teenage years. The third contributing factor is psychological and mental conditions, which include dejection and perturbation.  Mental conditions and disorders contribute to teenage unlawful behavior, which leads to their arrests.

Accordingly, various countermeasures can be used to overcome these risk elements. They include the implementation of various programs and the issuing of publications to spread awareness.  Programs are established and implemented to aid juvenile girls in overcoming contributing factors such as childhood traumas and psychological conditions. Also, publications of female juvenile delinquents can be spread in societies or schools to promote awareness of contributing factors of unlawful behaviors.  In conclusion, various factors contribute to the increasing number of female juvenile delinquents, and various countermeasures can be implemented to control and reduce the increase,
