Hello everyone. My name is Augusta Sherrod. I am an African American woman in her 50s studying a Bachelor of Science-Human Resource Management degree. I am excited about this course because it will help me develop my professional communication and create effective cover letters and resumes that market my key professional and academic accomplishments to potential employers. I also look forward to learning how to choose, evaluate, and negotiate transitional or new jobs to facilitate my career growth. One of my interests is volunteering in the community. I always look for opportunities to volunteer and use my knowledge and skills to help others in the community. Volunteering has been essential in expanding my social network and identifying career growth opportunities. My second interest is outdoor recreation. I also have an interest in cooking. Sometimes, I participate in food drives by cooking a lot of food and sharing it with the less fortunate in the community. I believe that career aspirations are vital in the career development process. Therefore, intend to work on achieving my career aspirations by taking all necessary measures. One of my career aspirations is to work in another country as an expatriate to get exposure to new ideas and experiences. My second career aspiration is to be regarded as one of the best human resource managers in my workplace and be promoted to an executive position. I also aspire to become a human resource management expert and open my human resource management consulting firm to help employers hire competent employees. I hope to achieve my career aspirations within the next two years so that I can achieve my professional goals.
