Therefore, organizing and selecting material for a portfolio will assist me in reflecting on and improving my teaching. Also, the chapter challenges teachers to be vigilant about what artifacts to add to a portfolio. Nonetheless, the professor or licensing authorities guide what to include as appropriate artifacts in the portfolio. In addition, artifacts are a vital aspect of a learning portfolio because they provide evidence of one’s experiences and education. Another important idea I learned about a portfolio is reflection. Reflection is needed in every aspect of life. It forms a critical portfolio component, especially when writing the final portfolio using the already collected information, such as the rationale statement and the artifacts. Reflection ensures the most effective and appropriate portfolio components are included and correctly written.
