Courageous Faith
Chapter 3: When Dreams and Heroes Die
Life is full of disappointments; sometimes, individuals or dreams we admire vanish. One’s beliefs are shaken, and one is left hopeless when losing a hero or a dream. Loss is not an end but an opportunity for growth and regeneration. One can mourn, but faith helps look for a purpose beyond loss: Courageous Faith.
There is always hope in adversity. Faith is not in people or objects but in a firm conviction that better doors will open. Disappointment and sorrow can be overcome with the courage to move on and believe that setbacks can open better doors (Warrell, 2025).
Something that seems to be an end can be a beginning to something better with perseverance and faith. Every adversity can bring a stronger, more resilient faith.
Chapter 6: No More Excuses
Excuses are obstacles to progress. Humans use excuses to blame circumstances, fear, or limitations for inaction. Stagnation is all that excuses provide, but responsibility and action are what faith requires. Progress is initiated when humans take responsibility for decisions and believe in moving beyond obstacles.
Fear, hesitation, and uncertainty will arise, but growth is realized when confronted and not avoided. Faith gives one the power to break through obstacles within and move forward with determined action towards victory. Effort, faith, and perseverance substitute excuses to bring transformation.
Faith-based action provides spiritual and personal transformation. Fulfilment is achieved by taking a leap in faith rather than being weighed down with excuses (Bruno, 2022). A life with no excuses is a life where faith accomplishes meaningful things.
Chapter 9: Reaching Out to Others
Faith is not a solo activity. Its true purpose is to help and build genuine relationships. Numerous people are alone, but a helping hand can bring healing and completeness. Doing acts of love, encouragement, and kindness sends ripple effects that travel further than what is seen.
Selflessness builds relationships and enriches faith. Instead of waiting for someone to move, a helping hand can bring unexpected blessings. This world has many individuals who need hope, and faith calls individuals to be a light.
By encouraging and helping others, growth is achieved. A faith-based existence is not about individual success but about making a difference in other individuals. Reaching out transforms the giver and the receiver, strengthening faith in the process.
Chapter 10: Realizing Your Goals
Reaching one’s objectives requires faith, discipline, and perseverance. Many dreams do not materialize because of fear, disbelief, or a lack of direction. Success is not ambition but believing in the process and taking consistent action. Faith provides direction and strength in adversity, reminding individuals that they can do more than what they know.
Having specific goals and working towards them with perseverance leads to progress. There will be setbacks, but obstacles should not be what defines the outcome. Every step in faith gets one closer to fulfilling one’s purpose.
Having a determined mindset, along with a faith in process, ensures that objectives are within reach. The journey to success is built on unwavering faith and a commitment to continuous progress.

Example:
Chapter 2: Human Condition (120 words)
Sin is the disease that has infected every human being. The proper theological term for this is “original sin.” The viciousness of original sin has altered our nature that it is “so deeply curved in upon itself” (Grunewald, p. 21). The implication of this for our human condition is that “sin is not simply something we choose to do or not do; sin is our nature.

Courageous Faith
We aren’t sinners because we sin. We sin because we are sinners” (Grunewald, p.26). The answer to our human condition is found in the Gospel, or more correctly, the person of the Gospel. Rather than being plagued by a “me first” spirit, Jesus selflessly gives himself to rescue those under the curse of sin.
