Comparing Evangelistic Methods-Assumptions, Culture, and Effectiveness

Christianity began with a few diverse evangelistic strategies.  However, numerous societies have introduced and utilized various kinds of evangelism to spread their faith over time.  Most of these types of evangelism are always used by Christians in different geographical regions in specific parts of the globe.  These methods include artistic preaching, where books, movies, and songs written by Christians are all vital tools for spreading the Gospel.  Numerous people are not ready to give up their primary sources of entertainment (Eitel, 2015).  Thus, including the Gospel in those arts does bring not only happiness but also builds confidence.

Door-to-door evangelism is where a group of followers visit people’s homes, spreading the Gospel.  These people simply try spreading the Gospel by teaching the word or giving out handouts, fliers, or books to avoid being a nuisance to people.  The other evangelism is relationship preaching.  This approach seems better compared to others as it has two primary benefits.  It assists one to depend on the confidence of the people in the immediate vicinity who are already believers in Christ.  Secondly, it allows one to get the best from their relationships with non-believers by teaching them the Lord’s ways (Eitel, 2015).

There is preaching through lifestyle where Christians behave or communicate ideals that are hard to express, such as willingness to assist and kindness.  Consequently, when they lead by example, they can persuade more people to embrace their religion and take Jesus as their savior.  There is preaching with booklets where church members distribute flyers to people in shopping malls, paths, movie theatres, restaurants, etc.  When you compare all other evangelism methods, using booklets is the best approach that produces the most excellent results and brings in more followers.

There is preaching in the Open air, also known as street preaching.  This is also a great but challenging method compared to internet preaching and booklet preaching because it requires a large open area and crowd with a platform in the middle.  The preacher must then share the Gospel persuasively to attract large groups, which is never guaranteed.  Finally, there is internet preaching, which is a strong tool for spreading the Gospel because the internet has and attracts millions and millions of new users daily and annually(Eitel, 2015).  I agree with all these methods because they are purposed at spreading the Gospel, and any church or pastor chooses the evangelism methods that work best for them or combines two or more for great results.  However all of them have merits and drawbacks, but they are all great methods of spreading the Gospel because, through them, the Gospel is to reach each individual regardless of where they are or what they do.
