Collaboration In Education

Collaboration In Education

Collaboration is a salient component of education. When individuals work together, teachers and students of diverse cultures, histories, values, and levels of achievements allow the individuals to pick up on different ideas and learn from one another. In addition, collaboration creates an opportunity for teachers and students to bond, develop, and maintain a healthy relationship that will improve productivity in a classroom.

In Chapter 3, a teacher mentioned that “… sharing the responsibilities makes us [the teachers] all feel like equals. We really work as a team.” Through collaboration, students and teachers can understand the value of teamwork. As teachers openly communicate with their peers, students, and parents, they can build trust, establish mutual goals, and enhance shared knowledge. The collaboration will unquestionably be one of many substantial elements I will incorporate in my early childhood classroom. As an educator, I am responsible for being a part of my students’ community and learning about each of their respective communities (their bioecological systems) to plan further different collaborative approaches that will benefit their development.
