Summary of strengths:
I have specific strengths in a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. I can independently identify the manifestations of common psychiatric illnesses, as well as distinguish psychopathologies from physiopathologies. My diagnostic reasoning skills are also excellent, as I can discuss mental health illnesses across the lifespan. I also have good self-assessment skills; I can independently develop SMART goals for my practicum experiences, evaluate their outcomes, make necessary alterations to the goals, and document the findings. I am also confident in my professional skills and ability to plan for psychotherapeutic treatment and select and implement diverse screening tools. I can identify and provide solutions to apparent ethical dilemmas, practice within the nursing scope of practice, and demonstrate a non-judgmental practice approach and empathy. I am also excellent at implementing and interpreting readings from different screening tools. |
Opportunities for growth:
To bolster my overall skills and abilities as a professional nurse, I need to improve my skills and understanding of some aspects of nursing professional skills and in the content areas of psychotherapeutic treatment planning, psychiatric evaluation, and diagnostic reasoning. Growth opportunities exist in interprofessional collaboration, maintaining professional boundaries, health promotion and psychoeducation, and psychiatric evaluation. |
