The position I applied for and was hired for was a teacher assistant at the Multigenerational Center, where the environment is a classroom environment. The physical setup for my class environment will encompass having all the desks or chairs placed in a horseshoe structure, enabling all learners to see or view everything I do to model the teaching activities. However, when we have class activities to work on, we shall have six groups evenly distributed within the classroom, with six desks and six learners in every group. The class will also have two whiteboards, one in the front and one on the right side, for pinning weekly studies, class events, etc. The class will also have varied pictures and charts around the class wall to make it welcoming and lively. Also, at the left corner of the classroom, there will be shelves to be used to keep the class materials, bags, and supplies. Any items made or created by learners will be posted in the decoration area (Cheon, Reeve & Vansteenkiste, 2020). Besides, there will be a smartboard for watching videos and learning more about class activities practically. A computer lab will be at the furthest corner to the right to help with researching and printing class material.

Consistently, the class will have different learning areas such as writing, art and creative, reading, and maths zones. Greener (2020) asserts that learning centers are vital in a classroom setting because they allow learners to be themselves. So that when they are given activities, they can focus on a set of skills that deepen their abilities and knowledge in specific areas. A special consideration in my class is playing soft music and limiting noise. Playing soft music will help to stimulate the senses of special learners such as those with autism, and limiting noise levels will help children with hearing or visual impairment concentrate better in class (Jebril & Chen, 2021). I decided to set things this way to ensure all learners’ needs were met and captured. I want the class to be welcoming and conducive for special and non-special needs learners. One out-of-the-box opportunity for creativity and innovation is to allow and encourage my learners to use readily available materials to make learning activities we need for our lessons. This out-of-the-box opportunity will enhance creativity and innovativeness among young learners and improve their skills and abilities in designing or building creative ideas and things.
