Classical Experimental Design
Introduction- The 12-step program designed by Alcoholics Anonymous represents powerful support groups that assist people in their recovery from disorders that emanate from substance use (Kelly et al., 2020).
Purpose of the 12-step program- Offers guidelines that assist in overcoming alcohol and substance addiction and/or abuse. The 12-step program is based on spiritual and religious principles (Kelly et al., 2020).
Identifying the patients’ personal details, medical history, and substance use history.
Identifying the factors that led to the addiction: stress, peer pressure, depression, recreational activities, etc.
Identifying the extent of damage caused.
Initiating dialogue that highlights the 12-step program.
Sensitizing the importance of making sound and conclusive decisions.
Communicating with members of the family as members of a support group.
Communicating Drug Addiction Symptoms, such as;
The urge to use the drug regularlyIntense urges for the drug, which in turn inhibits other thoughts.
Taking larger doses overtime over a long period.
Ensuring that there is a steady supply of the drug.
Spending more money on the purchase of the drug.
Experiencing withdrawal symptoms.
Communicating with family members on how to recognize unhealthy drug use in the family members, such as:
Challenges at school and work.
Self-neglect in terms of appearance.
Gradual changes in behavior.
Issues with finances.
Deteriorating health (Merrow, 2017).
Coming up with proper interventions, such as
Involvement in support groups
Encouraging the individual to embrace change.
Engaging in positive activities (Kazemi et al., 2017).
Creating goals together with the patient.
Creating a follow-up schedule.
Encouraging the individual to carry the message to others based on the 12-step program.

We’ll write everything from scratch
Decide on a classical experimental design you would be interested in conducting.
Develop an outline of the steps you would take if you were to conduct this experiment. Use an outline format and cite any resources used. Use APA formatting.
