These behaviors include anger and withdrawal. According to Feldman (2017), insecure attachment can hurt a child’s physical, cognitive, and emotional development, which can result in increased levels of anxiety and depression as well as problems building relationships with both peers and adults. This is why it is of the utmost importance to provide infants and young children with a secure attachment style, giving them the sense of comfort and protection they require to develop in healthy and meaningful ways.
