Analysis of a Pertinent Healthcare Issue
The National Healthcare Issue/Stressor Selected
As an area of concern, national healthcare costs are a serious challenge for our institution, with a strong financial impact and limited access to patient care. Our research of organizational data reveals the continuous upward trend connected to medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare services spending in the last couple of fiscal years (Raghupathi & Raghupathi, 2020). The difficult budget planning is done for the continued operation and quality care provision. On top of this, the patients, especially the underprivileged ones, the majority of whom come from low socio-economic status, encountered difficulties in obtaining essential health services and drugs that cost more in this rising price economy.
Thus, the medicine-related expenditures, shown through an increase in expense accounts related to pharmaceuticals and medical supplies depicted in financial statements, have been seen as the major driver of this surge. An illustration is that our pharmaceutical costs have gone up by 15% every year during the last three years, while our medical supplies have also experienced a 10% increase in cost each year (Lee et al., 2021).
Summary of the Two Articles Reviewed
The article discusses how healthcare costs in the US are being raised every day while the financing challenges in healthcare delivery remain a problem. The article emphasizes the need for health reform so that people can access affordable healthcare and inhabit a more positive social status (Fazal et al., 2022). It highlights policies that expand the coverage of insurance, implement value-based care at an accelerating pace, invest in the care that is performed outside of the medical facility, and lead to the development of highly effective drugs and an efficiently trained workforce. According to Fazal et al. (2022), the recommendations aim to remedy the uninsured population increasing every day, as well as healthcare cost growth, which is unsustainable, unequal access for some members of the population and unfavorable outcomes and also aim to cover the shortage of healthcare workforce.
The articles review the policies that can be adopted to cut healthcare costs and financing issues in the US from their respective backgrounds, studying health financing, delivery, and innovation. They underline the significance of guaranteeing a broad coverage of health care, faster shift to value-based settings, advanced home-based care, making drugs and other healthcare products affordable, and improving the quality of the workforce (Shrank et al., 2021). The recommendations impact various stakeholders and administrations of healthcare agencies for better provision, access, and quitting the inequality in the healthcare sector therefore, calling for the initiation of actions like expanding insurance Marketplaces and paying Bases, formal the adaptation of telemedicine reimbursement, expanding Medicaid coverage, and creating a nationally recognized community health workers’ workforce (Shrank et al., 2021).
Strategies Used to Address the Organizational Impact of National Healthcare Issues/Stressors
As highlighted in the articles, organizational entities have several measures at their disposal to prevent the creeping increase in healthcare expenses. For example, funding a telemedicine structure can be an effective option for facilitating access to care and decreasing costs related to the traditional treatment delivery process. Besides, developing worth-based medical services initiatives that emphasize the prevention of diseases and chronic disease management may be able to bring good results and minimize the costs over a longer period (Shrank et al., 2022).
In this case, the strategies can be accepted as not free choice without the side effects required. Such as: telemedicine is provisionally cost-effective and widens access to health care though yet more cost is entailed in its advanced technology and infrastructure (Gentili et al., 2022). Likewise, the transformation to the value-based care models could require redesigning the care delivery mechanism and changing the reimbursement mechanism at first, which might put obstacles in the processes in the short term.

Question
The Quadruple Aim provides broad categories of goals to pursue to maintain and improve healthcare. Within each goal are many issues that, if addressed successfully, may have a positive impact on outcomes. For example, healthcare leaders are being tasked to shift from an emphasis on disease management often provided in an acute care setting to health promotion and disease prevention delivered in primary care settings. Efforts in this area can have significant positive impacts by reducing the need for primary healthcare and by reducing the stress on the healthcare system.
Changes in the industry only serve to stress what has always been true; namely, that the healthcare field has always faced significant challenges, and that goals to improve healthcare will always involve multiple stakeholders. This should not seem surprising given the circumstances. Indeed, when a growing population needs care, there are factors involved such as the demands of providing that care and the rising costs associated with healthcare. Generally, it is not surprising that the field of healthcare is an industry facing multifaceted issues that evolve.
In this module’s Discussion, you reviewed some healthcare issues/stressors and selected one for further review. For this Assignment, you will consider in more detail the healthcare issue/stressor you selected. You will also review research that addresses the issue/stressor and write a white paper to your organization’s leadership that addresses the issue/stressor you selected.
