From the global health comparison matrix, it is apparent that incorporating the worldwide lens of the local practice organization is critical. In my local practice or as a nurse leader, I would recommend applying and implementing the international health guidelines for the management of epidemics such as HIV and AIDS. Especially during this time when the world is fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic, I would encourage my local organization to actively participate in the global fight against COVID-19 by public sensitization of COVID-19 testing and vaccination. Moreover, I would motivate my fellow nurses to take up leadership roles and participate in the health policy formulation processes to ensure that the policies developed are for a better world. Lastly, I would encourage strict adherence to the WHO guidelines, which are set to better the health of the worldwide population.

In my local practice as a nurse, incorporating global perspectives will expand my nursing roles. For instance, while I  dwell much in drug administration and inpatient care, I would start offering patient education on preventing common epidemics and future pandemics. Notably, the global perspectives will make me more cautious while offering my services to ensure my safety from contracting diseases such as COVID-19 and HIV.

Incorporating the global perspective or lens into my local practice would improve the quality of health services. For instance, from a global standpoint, it is noted that HIV is still an issue in many countries, and the burden is still high in developing countries (Roser & Ritchie, 2018). With such information at hand, continued sensitization on HIV prevention and treatment would help save a lot of people locally. However, when people ignore that HIV is no longer a burden in developed countries such as the United States, people might forget about the preventive measures and hence cause an increase in the spread of HIV.
