The company’s mission is “to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful” (Google, 2025). Google’s product portfolio includes the search engine, Google Chrome, YouTube, Gmail, Google Docs, Google Calendar, Google Maps, AdSense, and Google Play, among other digital solutions (GlobalData, 2023). Gmail is one of the most impactful Google products. The web-based email service was officially opened in 2007. Among others, the service assigns a unique email address that is independent of any internet service provider.
Besides, the service offers multiple gigabytes of free storage to users, with the option of renting additional space in case one exceeds the free storage provision. Another notable product from Google is YouTube, a video streaming platform. The company acquired YouTube in 2006 after its video streaming platform, Google Video, failed to match the success attained by YouTube. YouTube is currently the second-largest social media platform after Facebook.
Business Information
Google’s office locations are on an upward trend, an indication of a growing business. Currently, there are physical offices in 69 locations in North America (USA and Canada), including the Mountain View Headquarters. On the other hand, there are 40 offices across Europe, an indication of the company’s growing business in the region.
Google also has a significant presence in the South Pacific region, Africa, and the Middle East. However, the company has not managed to penetrate China, which has strict data and privacy restrictions. Despite attempts to collaborate with multiple local companies, Google has yet to gain access to the Chinese market.
Current Target Markets
Google’s target market includes users from all age groups, from children to older adults. Young generations are tech-savvy and hence use Google for social networking and entertainment. On the other hand, older users primarily rely on the platform for communication, information, and productivity. Besides, the company suits the needs of users from diverse budget constraints.
Current Marketing Tactics
Google leverages customer involvement to market. This tactic involves the seamless incorporation of advertisements into its various platforms (Tanabe, 2023). The integration of advertisements into different platforms allows users to have a cohesive and consistent experience. Besides, Google collaborates with other companies to gain insight into customer behavior, which helps the company target users based on their searches.
