TED College Bowl Game
Site Selection
While selecting the appropriate site for the TED college bowl game, different factors, including the geographical location, availability of amenities, and accessibility, were considered. Fans and players should easily access the venue with little difficulty. Given the clout that surrounds sports events like the TED College Bowl Game, it is likely that more people may wish to travel to the site, posing the risk of experiencing overcrowding (Kokolakis, 2018). Therefore, the transport network to the site should be seamless, such that all stakeholders, including players, event organizers, and fans, access the venue without limitations: TED College Bowl Game.
Also, the availability of amenities such as hotels and hospitals is crucial. Kokolakis (2018) avers that there is a need to ensure that amenities are accessible within a 15-minute walk to allow fans to take breaks from the event site. Besides, the availability of healthcare facilities will ensure that event attendees access medical care as soon as possible in case of such eventualities. Other conditions for selecting the stadium to host the event were the availability of parking spaces, concessions, and restrooms.
Considering the above criteria, Williams-Brice Stadium emerged as the most appropriate site for the event. The stadium has been the home to South Carolina football for a long time. Since the stadium is located just a few minutes from the University of South Carolina, the area is characterized by a huge student population that enjoys the entertainment that comes with sports events. Also, the area has a huge population of young professionals and professors alike, which means that significant revenue will be raised from ticket collections.
According to CMM Realty Inc. (2022), fans at Williams-Brice Stadium will have access to a community parking garage, which is adjacent to the stadium. That means that fans only walk short distances to access the stadium once they park nearby. The gated access community parking has two units that can accommodate multiple vehicles. Other facilities in the condo include a fully equipped kitchen, a washer with granite tops, a washing area and dryer, a community pool, a 24-hour community pool, and a grilling area.
These facilities will not only grant participating athletes a great experience prior to the match but also ensure that fans have an amusing pre-match experience. Fans can come to the venue way before the event and enjoy these facilities as they wait for the official kick-off. Given the facilities available at the Williams-Brice stadium, it satisfies two key expectations that fans look forward to before attending a football match: safety and comfort (Usydus, 2020). The stadium has adequate separators to ensure security and promote a sense of safety among the fans.
The climate in the current season is welcoming. Currently, the area around Williams-Brice Stadium is experiencing a cold season, which is welcoming to the local populace; hence, likely to attract a good number of fans who will grace the event. Also, the location of the site is likely to attract more fans. This is partly because the site is located in the central business district; hence, more fans can check in after school and/or work.
Marketing and Finance
According to Yu and Tan (2027), successful marketing is crucial for event organizers to generate significant revenue from sporting events. Marketers will leverage diverse print, digital, and electronic media to popularize the event prior to the game day. The organizers are cognizant of the reality that the scope of sponsorship by the partners will depend on the clout around the event. So far, Nike has committed to being the official event sponsor. A
lso, Adidas has committed to contributing to the organizers to ensure that the game is a success. Therefore, the media hype around the event incorporates messages from sponsors who have committed to gracing the event. Before the event, the marketers will distribute free giveaways, caps, and t-shirts to popularize the event.
On the other hand, the financial plan incorporates strategies for collecting as much revenue as possible from the event. For the TED College Bowl Game, the main revenue sources include ticket sales, sponsorships, and merchandise sales. Notably, the main sponsors, Nike and Adidas, will cater to the financial requirements in preparation for the event.
The sponsors and organizers will examine current bylaws and operational structures to ensure that the partnership is lawful and no one acts ultra vires of the standard operational rules. The following table shows sponsorship packages from the two main sponsors, Nike and Adidas.
| Feature | Nike Sponsor Package | Adidas Sponsor Package |
| Sponsorship Fee | $250,000 | $100,000 |
| Merchandise exclusivity | As the main sponsor, Nike will provide players with merchandise fully labeled with the company name. The company will provide on-field team gear and apparel for both teams on matchdays. | Adidas will offer co-branded fan merchandise, including t-shirts and towels. |
| Hospitality tickets | Nike will offer 100 VIP ticket passes and 500 regular ticket passes. This is meant to encourage event attendance by fans. | On the sidelines, Adidas will finance 50 VIP suite passes and 100 regular suite passes. |
| Presentation of the player of the game | Nike will facilitate the acquisition of the player of the match trophy and the custom gear to be used during the presentation. | On the other hand, Adidas will offer the branded certificate for the player of the match and the merchandise bundle as a gift. |
| Community involvement | Nike will offer upcoming players branded merchandise and school donations to support upcoming talent. | Adidas will offer a post-match game day of service sponsorship as a way of giving back to the community. |
| Logo placement | The company will place logos on the 50-yard line end zones | Adidas will have the rights to stadium banners |
| Television streaming | Will be mentioned by all television networks present at the event | Will have rights to secondary mentions |

It is worth noting that before these gaming events, each team will receive a base amount and merchandise from the main sponsors, Nike and Adidas, to facilitate play. The amount extended to the teams will be used to cater for logistics and accommodation. Besides, players will look forward to getting a token from the sponsors’ offers to enhance their comfort and keep them motivated.
After the initial round one playoffs, the best four teams will proceed to the semi-finals, which will culminate in the final to determine the ultimate winner. Notably, the final match will be the major bowl event that is expected to attract the most fans.
