Developing a Culture of Evidence-Based Practice
It is imperative to share the findings of an EBP study with practice implications and goals as they contribute to the growth of knowledge and enhancement of practice in a professional field. The two methods of dissemination that I would most likely employ are poster presentation and paper publication in peer-reviewed journals. The rationale for choosing the poster presentation format is that it effectively allows for the demonstration of all the major components of an EBP project, namely the clinical problem, research design, results, and conclusions. These are normally conducted during professional conferences or organizational meetings since this provides direct interaction with the people who make the presentations and facilitates idea sharing. The visual format of a poster can effectively convey complex information concisely and engagingly (Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt, 2023).
Another dissemination method that I would be willing to employ is publishing the findings in peer-reviewed journals. This format provides an opportunity to describe the EBP project and its components, such as the theoretical background, literature search, methods used, analysis of the results, and conclusions about practice. Published journals in various fields are easily available in libraries or online and are considered a reliable source of information for healthcare providers, researchers, and policymakers (Oermann & Hays, 2019).
However, there are difficulties with these dissemination strategies. Possible barriers include the competitiveness of conferences in getting the abstracts accepted for presentation, the constraints that accompany the area where the posters can be displayed, and the constraint of condensing a lot of information in a poster format. Further, conference attendance could be expensive and, therefore, limit the financial prowess needed (Brunt & Morris, 2023).
The primary challenges when researching that involves publishing articles in peer-reviewed journals include significant time spent on how to prepare the manuscript and submitting it for review, as well as how to undertake reviews, rewrites, and sometimes rejection due to the stringent peer review process. Additionally, some journals may charge high prices for publication or only allow a specified number of words to be written, making it even harder (Oermann & Hays, 2019).
To overcome these barriers, I would approach my superiors or individuals in the same profession who have previously used these outlets to share their work. Furthermore, I would timetable adequate time for the formulation of good quality posters or manuscript dossiers to meet poster or manuscript guidelines and manage the comments of the reviewers appropriately. Strategies that could help reduce potential barriers include working with co-authors or approaching the institution for sponsorship of conference attendance or even the cost of publishing (Brunt & Morris, 2023).
The dissemination strategies I would be the least interested in include podium presentations and unit-level or organizational-level presentations. Public speaking is not simple, and when it comes to making podium presentations, it is even more challenging since one has to be able to share all the essential details in a limited time only. Also, the many competitions that exist to submit conference abstracts make it very difficult to get a podium presentation. Additionally, targeted presentations at the unit or organizational level may be good in disseminating EBP within a selected facility, but the reach will be minimal as compared to the strategies mentioned above.
In conclusion, when healthcare professionals apply the dissemination strategies and counteract the possible challenges, they can also enhance EBP, assert evidence-informed practice and practice change, and improve patients’ health outcomes.

Question
To Prepare:
Review the Resources and reflect on the various strategies presented throughout the course that may help disseminate effective and widely cited EBP.
Developing a Culture of Evidence-Based Practice
This may include: unit-level or organizational-level presentations, poster presentations, and podium presentations at organizational, local, regional, state, and national levels, as well as publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Reflect on which type of dissemination strategy you might use to communicate EBP.
POST: at least two dissemination strategies you would be most inclined to use and explain why. Explain which dissemination strategies you would be least inclined to use and explain why. Identify at least two barriers you might encounter when using the dissemination strategies you are most inclined to use. Be specific and provide examples. Explain how you might overcome the barriers you identified.
