Part 2: Reflection

One of the things I can do more efficiently is getting the kids ready for school. I can adjust the time I wake up to add more time for breakfast and getting the kids ready for school. For instance, I can get up at 4.30 and finish making breakfast by 5.15 to set aside 30 minutes for preparing the kids for school to avoid rushing too much, which sometimes makes me forget some of the things I had planned to do within that hour. I can also work more efficiently by taking short breaks between working hours to avoid fatigue.

Working takes most of my time mainly because I work with deadlines, and I have to complete a day’s work within the timeline provided. In the morning, getting the kids ready for school takes a lot of time because they are too lazy to wake up and delay finishing their breakfast. I also have to supervise them as they take breakfast to ensure they finish all the cereal I prepare. I can, therefore, adjust my routine of dropping my kids at school and picking them up after school to create more time for work. I can arrange with the school to have the IDs picked up by the school bus in the morning and dropped off in the morning to enable me to prepare for work more efficiently and avoid leaving in a hurry in the evening. Getting to work early and living after completing all the tasks assigned to me for that day will increase my productivity and efficiency at work.

Increasing my efficiency at work also requires eliminating activities that consume my wiring time. The main black hole that unnecessarily takes up a lot of time is reviewing the reports prepared by the interns under my supervision to ensure that they are correct and that they give my patients the care needed while adhering to my guidelines.

In the second part of the worksheet, you will reflect on your completed time log from part 1 and write a short 250-500 word summary of your experience.

Part 1: Monitor your time in hourly increments.

Use the time monitoring log provided in the worksheet to write down what you did each hour of the day, starting at 5 a.m. and ending at 10 p.m. Even if you do not get up until 10 a.m., you still need to record 5 a.m. – 9 a.m. as “sleep.”
Do not overdo the recording; record the primary activity for the hour. At most, record two activities per hour.
Part 2: Reflection

On day four, review your completed time monitoring log from part 1 of the worksheet in order to take a serious look at how you use your time each day. Use the questions in the instructions for part 2 to guide your writing.
