Impact of Renewable Energy on Employment

Impact of Renewable Energy on Employment

Hello and welcome to my research presentation for the research study focusing on the impact of renewable energy on employment. This presentation aims to provide details about the subject area reviewed in the research, research aims and objectives, research questions, research methodology, the challenges I am likely to face in the research and reflections on my learning techniques to complete the research project.

The first section of the presentation will be an introduction to renewable energy, what existing research on the topic has covered, what has not been covered in existing research, and how my research will cover this research gap. The second section will identify the main aim of the research, research objectives and the research questions that will be used to meet the research aim and objectives. The third section will be a research methodology indicating how data will be collected and analyzed. The fourth section will be the challenges I am likely to face when conducting the research and in the final section I will reflect on learning techniques used to complete the project. I will then provide a list of resources used to support the claims made in the presentation.

According to Halisçelik & Soytas (2019), countries across the world are focusing on creating sustainable environments that are characterized by conserving natural resources and protecting global ecosystems to support well-being and health. Zahnd(2014) argues that this has created a need for using renewable energy which includes generating energy from resources that cannot be depleted. The role of renewable energy in society includes producing energy and supporting other parts of the economy by supporting business processes and creating employment for economic growth. Existing literature on the impact of renewable energy on employment has focused on the negative and positive impacts. There is, however, a research gap created by the fact that existing literature has concentrated on how renewable energy affects employment in developed countries. This research will, therefore, fill this gap by focusing on the impact of renewable energy on employment in developing countries.

The aim of this research is to determine the impact of renewable energy on employment in developing countries. I will meet this aim by considering the research objectives, which are drawing the connection between renewable energy and employment in developing countries, determining the factors contributing to the positive impact of renewable energy on employment in developing countries, and determining the factors contributing to the negative impact of renewable energy in developing countries. The researcher will therefore consider the following research questions;

a.What is the connection between renewable energy and employment in developing countries?

b.What are the factors contributing to the positive impact of renewable energy on employment in developing countries?

c.What are the factors contributing to the negative impact of renewable energy in developing countries?

The research will include collecting secondary data from peer-reviewed journals and case studies. The research will also use qualitative research design. This research design has been selected because I needed to uncover trends in opinions on the impact of renewable energy on employment. I will also use an exploratory research strategy because the research focuses on exploring an existing phenomenon (Hanks, 2017). I will additionally use an interpretivism research philosophy and inductive research approach. The interpretivism research philosophy has been selected because I needed to interpret the impact of renewable energy on employment based on the meanings brought by other researchers. Devi(2017) argues that interpretivism is also appropriate in qualitative research because it assists the researcher in yielding different interpretations of the collected data. The secondary data gathered from the case studies and peer-reviewed journals will be analyzed using content analysis, which includes identifying similar content and grouping it together to formulate a conclusion(Scappini, 2020).

One of the main challenges that I am likely to face in my research is having limited access to some articles that may contain the secondary data I need for my research. Most researchers do not offer their research for free and I may be required to purchase them to gain full access. The second challenge is time restrictions. I need to work on a tight schedule to review all relevant data and analyze it. Going through the case studies and peer-reviewed articles will take a lot of time, hence forcing me to adjust my schedule to meet the research deadline. The third challenge is bias which may arise in selecting the data I will use in my research. The third challenge is determining whether the data I choose to use in my research is valid and reliable because it is hard to determine whether the authors validated their data and provided proof of its reliability. The issue of data validity and reliability will also make it hard to determine the quality of the data used in the research.

Task 2 of 2 – Research Proposal Presentation (Power Point Presentation)
Instructions
After conducting your literature review, you are required to present a research proposal explaining the aim and objectives of your research and explaining which method is appropriate for your research and why the other methods were unsuitable.
You should also discuss the challenges you have/will face during your research, in particular focus on the importance of being self-motivated and learning on your own.
The presentation should include:
 An explanation of your subject area, aim, objectives, and questions
 Your research methodology
 The challenges you are likely to face in your research
 Reflections on your learning techniques to complete the research project.
Be sure to cover the following:-
5.1 Use study plans to achieve research and academic writing objectives
5.2 Use independent learning techniques.
5.3 Reflect on research and academic writing.
