Leadership – The Covid-19 Pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic has placed the leadership of most people to the test. The manner in which leaders have chosen to handle the situation has exposed their effectiveness as leaders. Singapore, led by Halimah Yacob, is among the countries that have effectively managed the pandemic. Yacob possesses high levels of intelligence, self-confidence, and proper skills to perform the task at hand, which enabled her to manage the pandemic better than most other countries. She falls under the category of a charismatic leader who is able to inspire, motivate, and uplift followers. According to Shaver (2015), charismatic leadership is said to have a positive relationship with effectiveness in leadership performance. Besides Yacob’s ability to manage the pandemic well, she has also helped to propel the economy of Singapore despite the hit that most countries have taken from the pandemic.
