Becoming a Great Writer
Becoming a writer can seem to be an easy task. However, as most writers propose, writing comes as a result of passion and dedication to write. Also, deciding on what to write can be challenging for new writers. Therefore the project aims at providing guidelines on how to become a successful writer like Toni Morrison. New writers might be having the desire and passion for writing; they lack guidance on or the basics of writing.
One key thing I will want to address is the acceptance of being a writer. Some writers do not acknowledge themselves as writers and hide under other titles. In doing so, they fail to make the writing profession the prestige that comes with it and, at the same time, may not motivate other upcoming writers.
There are different categories of writing, from novels and poems to essays. All this depends on the writer’s interest. Irrespective of the writing genre, there is a need to follow the set guidelines of writing them. As part of the project, I will address the techniques of writing a good essay, which include writing about language, imagery, and symbols.
Writing is a process that requires prior preparation and organization of ideas. A writer needs to determine what they need to write about (the topic they want to address) and use the language that their readers will understand. Therefore, I will discuss the writing process from preparing for the subject, coming up with a thesis statement, and proofreading, among other writing techniques.
In a nutshell, I aim to address the critical topics in the writing process that a new writer should consider before writing, Experienced writers such as Toni Morrison have a lot to about writing, and I plan to put across what they feel about writing and the major lessons that new writers can take from them.

First and foremost, get started on your research to familiarize yourself with the author you will be writing about.
Once you gathered some preliminary information from the sources you found through the library workshop in the Discussion Board and have thought about the author, please write a 100-word Topic Proposal summarizing some of the main ideas you plan to address.
