SWOT Analysis and Strategic Marketing Recommendations – Popeyes
The SWOT analysis for Popeyes
Strengths
· Popeyes has a strong international brand presence with more than two thousand stores across the world (Helms & Nixon, 2010). · They have a strong radio and TV presence with a catchy phrase Love That Chicken |
Weaknesses
· Compared to other parts of America, the brand in increasingly concentrated in Louisiana and Tennessee · African-Americans are the primary consumers of Popeyes, making it hard for the brand to expand its demographics |
Opportunities
· Focus on healthy items at a low cost since the consumer preference is continually changing (Helms & Nixon, 2010). · A health-conscious generation is growing, and this is an opportunity for Popeyes to create an innovative menu. |
Threats
· There is increased competition from other fast-food brands such as KFC · There is a high rise in the costs of raw materials, labor, and operations. |
Menu development is one of the strategic marketing recommendations because the menu needs to be continuously reviewed to find an optimal product mix that addresses the changing preferences of consumers. An increase in the number of restaurants is another strategy to enable further penetration of the existing markets because Popeyes is highly franchised.
