Discussion – The New New Play
Bradley and Craig are self-centered. Craig argues that since Jimmy was devoted to the labor of creating the book, he can overlook Naomi’s sentiments. They are also sympathetic: Bradley prepares Jimmy for a relationship with his girlfriend’s partner. He feels he is a decent person (Stuart, n.d.). Craig and Bradley are hypocrites. Bradley understood the truth about Naomi’s case with the so-called “Monster.” Craig affirms to Bradley that it was a non-issue, and he agrees. This exemplifies the two’s hypocrisy.
Naomi provides a significant revelation. She corrects the concept of her brother’s brutal disposition. She says that Jimmy lied about her brother’s identity. Second, Naomi confesses that her brother did not assault Jimmy because he lacked the necessary physical ability and that he was murdered on purpose, as shown by his physical damage. Finally, she confesses that her brother was a diligent person with a respectable career and had no right to assault Jimmy.
