This article highlights the challenges that violence, drugs, and cyberattack concerns pose in the workplace. Close to half of the surveyed respondents reiterated the difficulty of preparing for violence in the workplace. The most applicable strategy is training employees for such situations by creating awareness and legally prohibiting weapons from the workplace (ECRI, 2019). The lack of best practice guidance on handling violent cases complicates the situation further. Human resource officers are encouraged to manage violence issues proactively and collaboratively (Maurer, 2019). I agree with this aspect because violent cases and terror attacks paralyze the public and respective agencies. Thus, human resource officials are advised to set up security apparatus to protect the data and conduct audits as well as training on the employees’ active role. I agree with the author’s perspective on drugs and data security concerns. The enforcement of policies related to marijuana use ought to comply with the regulations that have already been established. At the same time, HR professionals must ensure that the use of marijuana among employees in different states does not affect the performance of work (SHRM, 2021). The need for cyber security is paramount because organizations must protect intellectual information.
The author also highlights the struggle that organizations experience when hiring employees. Planning the workforce is a challenge because it is difficult to find qualified applicants and create effective succession planning.
