This can also help prevent possible legal repercussions that could be costly for the individual and organization that they might be working for.

It is important for the professional to have a positive relationship with families of children with ASD as this can help reduce stress for the parents and can help children show significant progress through the interventions provided. According to Shelton (2016), a positive relationship can help parents have a better attitude towards institutions like schools, knowing that their children are in safe hands and that their needs can be well taken care of and respected. Therefore, constant collaboration and communication with parents is highly necessary.
