Art-Design and Painting
According to Corazón, people believe and accuse her that being a designer is a privilege, yet being a designer is to be obliged to be a professional who knows how to look. Therefore, this defines a designer as an individual who plans the workings and looks of something before it is made by preparing plans or drawings, while a painter is an artist who draws pictures. This paper will compare design to the painting profession. Ideally, painting and design can have several similarities and differences.
One of the differences is that painting provokes people’s thoughts, while design solves people’s problems (Friedman & Hendry, 2019). Secondly, both painting and design emphasize looking and focus. However, for painting, they must never compromise or make concessions about their paintings. On the other hand, for design, one must know how to look at things professionally and acknowledge how to see a client’s communication problems and solve them (Corazón, 2022). Finally, a painter can not negotiate or make any concessions to their visions. In contrast, a designer can compromise their visions if they conflict with their objectives because they deal with solving clients’ problems and what they see as a professional observer.
The similarity between painters and designers is that in both, one has to dedicate one’s attention to what one sees. The skills of a designer are creativity and focus, while those of a painter are creativity, motor skills, and self-reflection (Oktavia et al., 2019). The privileges of design are focusing all abilities and attention on client communication problems and traveling. The painting profession has the benefits of relaxing, deterring negative feelings, providing happiness and pleasure for people, and exploring creativity.
The painting profession challenges and reflects cultural perspectives by reflecting society and culture. As such, this helps individuals understand who they are as beings and influences how they relate to each other. This is because painting expresses one’s thoughts, experiences, and feelings. In addition, painting is an expression of creativity that can be utilized for social influence or self-reflection (Schneider & Wright, 2020).
