Creating a Portfolio

My portfolio will comprise various parts that will present documented teaching proof from various sources and provide a framework for that evidence. One of the materials that I will include is my teaching responsibilities. These will comprise the duties I have had as a teacher in my teaching experience. For example, as a teacher, I have had the responsibility of ensuring student discipline. I will also include a short discussion of my teaching techniques and approaches. For instance, one of my teaching strategies is the flipped classroom method. A flipped classroom is a category of blended learning whereby learners are familiarized with content at home and trained to work through it at school. This teaching strategy enhanced self-direction in my students and enabled the learners to access content, not forgetting that the families were more engaged in the students’ learning.

Additionally, I will include a reflective statement of my teaching goals and philosophy. One of my teaching goals is to ensure good performance in all my students. As such, I have to motivate each student and communicate effectively with them to comprehend their needs. My education philosophy is that every student can be intelligent despite their current conditions, and it is the role of the teacher to instill this belief in them. Accordingly, I am convinced that even the bottom performers can become excellent when put in the right learning conditions. The variance between the most intelligent learner and the weakest performer lies in belief and conviction. I will also include the actions taken to improve my teaching, for instance, continuing my education. Lastly, I will include a statement of plans and goals. For example, I plan to keep improving my education to the master’s level.
