One of the things I learned in Chapter 3 was the goals of observation, evaluation, and discussion. I can use the proposed suggestions for developing a good evaluation throughout my practicum practice, such as asking the evaluator to identify the best parts of an activity or lesson and parts that should be improved, asking for specific examples to clarify what an evaluator means, and separating specific comments from other teaching segments that the teacher is performing well. The third lesson is the personal attributes of an effective teacher. My goal is to positively impact learners by equipping them with knowledge and skills within their study area. Therefore, I will use the personal characteristics of an effective leader proposed by Machado & Botnarescue (86) as a checklist to evaluate my effectiveness and progress toward becoming an effective teacher. I will also use the attributes to analyze my strengths and weaknesses as a leader and the attributes I can develop over time, such as the willingness to be flexible and try new things.
