Ecological Footprint Update and Course Reflection

Ecological Footprint Update and Course Reflection

The past few weeks have been very educational. I have learned more ways to reduce my ecological footprint. For instance, I learned about using energy-efficient products to reduce my carbon footprint. Energy-efficient products eliminate energy waste by using less energy (Akroush et al., 2019). Numerous advantages come from using energy-efficient products. There is decreased demand for imported energy, decreased expenses for households and the entire economy, and decreased greenhouse gas emissions (Pode, 2020). Energy conservation and waste reduction can be achieved by taking short showers, unplugging electronic equipment when they are not in use, reducing and recycling waste, and purchasing energy-efficient products.

What stood out during the course was how I keep finding new ways to reduce my ecological footprint. Knowledge and information on reducing the ecological footprint and living a sustainable lifestyle are extensive. Continuous research is required to stay up-to-date with the changes needed to improve and conserve the environment. I did not find any task difficult or frustrating. The course was easy to comprehend. Overall, the course was very exciting. I especially enjoyed carrying out a project on reducing my ecological footprint. After researching my objectives, my ecological footprint reduction project was easy to complete.

Looking ahead and beyond this course, I plan to continue reducing my ecological footprint. I also plan to educate my friends, family, and the community on the importance of reducing their ecological footprint and how to do it. This course has changed my outlook on the environment. I now know that the environment we live in is important. I have learned how people’s daily habits, for instance, brushing our teeth to cutting trees, influence the state of the environment. I have learned how human beings can conform to their habits to conserve the environment. I also learned how to reduce my ecological footprint through the project. Due to this knowledge and information, I have changed my diet and the products I use to conserve the environment.
