Assessment- Ethical Leanings

Assessment- Ethical Leanings

After taking my assessment, I realized what kind of a leader I would be, which would be caring about people and, at the same time, making them accountable to ensure that they deliver accordingly. As stated, followers should be highly accountable for their deeds (Johnson, 2019). I believe that showing concern for followers is not a point of weakness but rather one of strength. This is because when workers, for instance, realize that they are cared for, they become motivated to give their all and commit to attaining the organizational goals, which improves productivity. Empowering and influencing the followers is highly beneficial to the organization as well as to the workers.

In this regard, the things that would instruct my ethical leanings include people’s wellness, doing the right thing most times, and concentrating on high productivity. Typically, people’s wellness means leaning towards ethical principles that ensure people are treated well and that they are not abused or coerced. On the other hand, doing the right thing pertains to making the correct choices and doing so with integrity in the process. Additionally, in the process of making these choices, high productivity is vital, and it is for this reason that followers ought to be accountable and give their best.

Public administrators have a significant role in policy creation and execution; thus, they are increasingly anticipated to act with a higher ethical appeal (Lokman & Talib, 2016). Consequently, the ethical considerations that I think public administrators ought to have in relation to their personal power comprise accountability, which means that they are responsible for their duties in the given position. Additionally, they ought to have integrity, which means operating with honesty and making the right choices. Moreover, fairness is vital for public administrators, for instance, in resource distribution. This is because they ought to make sure that the public gets everything it requires equally.
