Evidence-Based Practice-Reflection-in-Action
Thoughts on Evidence-Based Practice (EBP)
When I started this class, I had little information on evidence-based practice. However, this class has benefited me greatly, and I have learned many concepts related to evidence-based practice. I have learned the importance of evidence-based practice to patient outcomes and satisfaction. Evidence-based practices allow healthcare professionals to use the latest clinical guidelines and technology to provide quality patient care (Reid et al., 2017). Evidence-based practice is becoming more and more accepted among many healthcare workers. They embrace evidence-based since this concept is being introduced in many healthcare curricula. Our assignment writing help is at affordable prices to students of all academic levels and academic disciplines.
When hospitals implement EBP, they must explain to their healthcare workers the importance of EBP and educate them on retrieving quality healthcare information. Patients should receive quality care that is supported by recent healthcare evidence. Healthcare professionals must know that care models will constantly evolve and must always be ready to integrate new evidence into practice. Some EBP include infection control strategies, telemedicine, and health promotion activities. Without EBP, healthcare organizations cannot meet the ever-changing, complex patient needs. This class has taught me that EBP keeps growing and has become an integral part of the healthcare industry. Healthcare professionals must thus embrace EBP to help them improve patient outcomes.
Creating and Sustaining an Evidence-Based Nursing Environment
Before starting this class, I did not know how to implement evidence-based practice in a clinical environment. I was aware of the importance of EBP in healthcare care, but I did not comprehend how EBP can be implemented and sustained in a healthcare environment. I have learned that the implementation of EBP is a difficult task, and this is because some healthcare organizations may not have enough resources, employees, and culture to implement EBP. Despite these setbacks, healthcare organizations should find ways of creating EBP in their settings to enhance patient care. They must use evidence-based models to implement EBP. They must incorporate evidence-based practice to improve and enhance patient care. They should create mentor positions to mentor their patients in evidence-based programs. Healthcare organizations should also develop a quality improvement department to aid them in sustaining EBP. The senior management should also support EBP and help their employees overcome any challenges when implementing evidence-based practice. They must foster communication between their employees to help implement EBP. This will make it easier for them to create and sustain EBP.
Understanding of Statistics in Nursing Research
After completing the remedial work given to me by my instructor, I feel better placed to discuss with someone the use of statistics in nursing research. I feel confident that if I advance my nursing studies, I will be even more knowledgeable on the best application of statistics in nursing. This class has helped me understand how nursing research collects and analyzes data. I am now confident that I can conduct nursing research, collect data, and make conclusions that can be integrated into nursing practice.
I have understood the fundamentals of statistics and the main ways data can be collected in nursing research, and I can now comfortably interpret research data. I can use both quantitative and qualitative research methods to complete my nursing research, and this is a skill that I did not possess before starting this course. Nurses must know the importance of statistics in nursing and strive to be involved in nursing research. Understanding how to interpret statistical data will be a vital tool for all nurses, and it can help nurses conduct research that can be integrated into nursing care.
