SWOT Analysis

The SWOT analysis will detail my Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. I will identify opportunities that are beneficial for my development, and I will also be able to neutralize or overcome threats that could hinder me from achieving my dreams.

Strengths

I have over ten years of experience working in Customer Service. I’ve had my share of good and bad days. I enjoy working in this field. However, it has been a challenging experience. The perception of such interactions’ success depends on employees “who can adjust themselves to the personality of the guest.” To have a career in Customer Service, you must be a good communicator, have self-control, a good work ethic, patience, the ability to be relatable, caring, compassionate, willing to help when needed, experience in dealing with the public, knowledge of the information, phone skills, work well with others, okay with being managed, willing to go the extra mile to please customers and showing customer appreciation. However, working in this field has strengthened my abilities since I began this career path.

I am very organized and cultivate healthy habits, which help me to stay organized. A pen and some paper are a way of remembering things externally, and it’s much more permanent. I will complicate my life further by keeping essential dates and reminders in my head. I write down everything: grocery shopping lists, holiday gifts, home decor, and important dates like meetings and birthdays. I don’t waste time recognizing that keeping things organized goes together with staying productive. I make and keep schedules for the day and week, meet deadlines, and set goals. I don’t procrastinate; the longer I wait to do something, the more difficult it will be to get it done. I will stay organized if I want my life to be less stressful and less demanding. Putting in the effort to get things done as soon as possible will lift the weight off me from doing it later. I like to keep things in their proper place by storing items properly and labeling storage spaces in my home. I make easy-to-access storage spaces for something I use and don’t let my storage spaces get cluttered.

Weakness

I do not like to use the word “weakness”; instead, I prefer to say the areas that need strengthening. I wouldn’t say I enjoy presenting to a room full of people; it makes me nervous and causes me great anxiety. I’m more of a behind-the-scenes person. I don’t have to be recognized for the work that is done. I realized that practice makes me as perfect as possible; however, when it’s time to present, all the nervousness comes back all at once. The best way to deal with my public speaking fears is to face them head-on because the more experience I have presented, the more comfortable I’ll become. I tend to be overly critical of myself. I can’t help but feel that I could have done more, even if my presentation received a positive response.

It is hard to get back on track once I’m distracted; I’ll go somewhere private, close my eyes, and focus on breathing as I inhale and exhale. Soon, I’ll feel centered, calmed, and better be able to recall what I was trying to do before I was interrupted. If I’m working on something and an interruption or new priority like a meeting takes me off track, I grab a pen and make a few quick notes about the direction I was going in when everything on my desktop is one hundred percent relevant to the task at hand, it’s so much easier to pick up where I left off. I remember to clear it all away before I start the next assignment when I’m ready to resume; it’s easier to recall where I was headed before the interruption and get back to work. I may not be able to stop all distractions, but I can manage how I transition back into task mode, and an excellent old-fashioned memo can get me there faster.

Opportunities

A recent vacancy in my department has allowed me to step into a leadership role, a great career development opportunity. The leadership role requires me to guide and steer the employees toward the achievement of goals within the company. I must have the ability to delegate, inspire, and communicate effectively. Being in leadership, I must be able to be honest. This means giving straightforward feedback and addressing employee concerns head-on without beating around the bush. As a leader, I can keep the team motivated to do the best possible job and have each other’s backs. I help the manager keep the company running smoothly by taking on managerial tasks, such as overseeing employees or providing customer service. I’m mainly responsible for acting as a manager in the manager’s absence. I can help resolve issues between employees and customers and perform various tasks performed by upper management to ensure the business succeeds. I display strong communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills. I’m a competent leader and team player with excellent customer service skills. Being well-organized and able to converse with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures are essential attributes.

I returned to school to enter a new career path after graduation. I will redesign my resume to fit the job requirements; my summary will not be short and crisp with all the required details. Supplementing my resume with a solid and impressive cover letter is essential. The letter will contain information about why I desire a career change. I will discuss how my existing skills and qualities will be helpful to the organization and how I’m suitable for the job. I will be expressive, specific, positive, and persuasive in telling about my expertise and achievements and my goals and objectives of my life. I want to earn a higher salary and obtain better perks and incentives. I prefer higher recognition and appreciation for better personal and professional growth opportunities. I’m interested in a new upcoming industry or job that suits my passion, personality, and skills. I want to do something more meaningful professionally and start my venture. I must understand and learn the tactics and fundamentals of my new career skills. Volunteering is the best way to acquire knowledge and first-hand training in my career path. I can work under some expert in that field voluntarily or on a low stipend to develop the required skills and knowledge. I have transferable skills such as leadership skills, creativity, the ability to have a clear vision, enhance teamwork and spirit, and so on. These new career skills will help improve the performance of the organization and the workforce.

Threats

Stepping into that leadership role has significantly increased my workload, and as a result, my duties are impacted. I must stay current by keeping track of all the rules, regulations, and guidelines as the company presents them to the leadership team. When given more responsibility at work, I learned to think positively and have the right frame of mind. I consider it an opportunity to take a positive step forward in my career rather than a burden. This is my time to show management I am ready to accept a more significant responsibility within my team and company. I’m learning to prioritize in terms of coping with my newly inflated workload; I must prioritize my tasks to manage my time effectively. I will be strict with myself during the day or week to complete any urgent tasks on my priority list while leaving time for jobs with more relaxed deadlines. Setting aside time daily to make a “to-do” list can help me focus on my duties and improve my productivity. I feel I’ve been asked to deliver more than what is capable for a given schedule; I ask for additional assistance from co-workers or even my boss. Open communication is invaluable to help my managers accurately assess and reallocate my team’s resources or to schedule possible future training areas.

I hope to move to a new city within five years. It is a different game than simply driving, typically because the timeline involved in finding a job in a new location is much shorter than when I decide on a change of scenery and then focus on getting a new position. I will have to create a budget to have a clear sense of what I will spend going into it, instead of not thinking about it and later getting an insane credit card bill just as I’m getting settled at my new job in an unfamiliar city. I will have to write down everything I need and don’t need because there is a lot to consider with an exciting new job looming; this isn’t the appropriate moment to rely on my memory. I will have to consider the cost of living. There will be a tiny bump in the cost of living from one area to another, or even a decrease at other times, though I’ll be looking at a drastic jump in expenses.
