The Christian Crusades Era
The Christian Crusades era was one of the periods where religion led to a heated conflict between people who supported different faiths. The ambassador’s account foreshadowed the conflicts that would erupt during the Christian crusades by highlighting the misunderstanding and differences between Christians and Muslims. According to this week’s lecture video on the Christian Crusades, one of the factors that led to the Crusades was the conflict between religious leaders (The Crusades). The Muslims were determined to create a pure form of Islam that did not accept other faiths, leading to tension between Christians and Muslims. The Muslims also promoted the idea of a holy war to fight against those who did not support Islam. Before the Christian Crusades, the ambassador had described how Muslims would use the Bible to justify attacking Christians and how they would claim that their actions were in line with God’s will. This was evident in the Christian Crusades, where Muslims quoted some verses in the Quran to justify Jihad.
