Sustainable World Company Product and Services Plan
The products and/or services the business will offer
Clothes
The business will be manufacturing casual and official clothes for men and women. The main focus will be producing unique designs that can be considered for various events such as weddings and parties and swimwear for young girls and women. The business will also manufacture children’s clothes that can fit children between 5 and 17 years old. Children’s clothes will include baby blankets and sleeping bags made of pure cotton to ensure that they are warm enough for the children.
Accessories
Accessories will include all types of jewellery ranging between chains, earrings, bracelets, watches, and rings. The accessories will be made from a metallic material, wood, polyester, and nylon. Bracelets will be customized based on customers’ needs. The watches and rings will also be resizable to fit customers with different wrist and finger sizes.
Shoes
Shoes will include canvas and leather shoes, both closed and open. The business will also focus on a variety of shoes based on their use, such as sports, official duties, casual wear, bathing, and swimming sandals.
Differentiating features and benefits to customers of each of the products and/or services, including the level of quality
One of the differentiating features of the products will be personalization. The products will be personalized using unique designs to match various occasions and printed messages on the clothes to influence customers’ purchasing decisions. For instance, children’s clothes will have messages such as; “Mommy’s little prince” or “Mommy’s little princess.” This will benefit customers by making them select products based on the message they like. For instance, they may be able to choose gifts for their children or baby shower gifts. Another differentiating feature will be the use of sustainable materials such as nylon and polyester. This feature will benefit customers because polyester and nylon products will be cheap and do not pose a risk to the environment.
Technical specifications and intellectual property
Technical specifications will focus on color, size, zippers and buttons, logo printing, decorations, batches, and packaging. The company will also use trademarks to protect its products. The trademarks will cover the company’s logo and brand name hence allowing the customers to differentiate products. We will sign an affidavit noting the date we first used the brand name and logo and provide a drawing of our logo to be checked against the trademark database to avoid legal issues that could arise from using another company’s trademark.
Plans for prototyping or testing with customers
We will test our products with customers by supplying a small batch in the market and requesting customers to provide their feedback. Customers will be informed that the products are prototypes; hence, critical feedback will be solicited to improve the product. Customers will also be given alternatives to compare with the prototypes and give feedback on what they like and dislike about each version. The prototypes will be tested on regular and extreme users. Extreme users will be customers who only purchase products made of sustainable materials. In contrast, regular users will be customers who do not focus on the material used to manufacture a product as long as the product meets their needs and gives them value for their money.
The pricing strategy for each of the products or services
We will use the value-based pricing strategy for the clothes and shoes by ensuring that their designs are unique and made of high-quality material that enhances their durability. According to Netseva-Porcheva (2011), value-based pricing effectively increases the customer base and creates a competitive advantage. The penetration pricing strategy will be used for accessories whereby the initial prices when entering new mares will be low and increase based on the demand. Riehl (2019) argues that this pricing strategy is ideal for businesses venturing into a highly competitive market.
After-sales warranties or service
The business will deliver purchased products to customers. Returns will only be allowed if the product does not fit the customer or if the customer did not receive what they ordered. Customers will be expected to provide a receipt when returning the product. The business will only accept returns made within one day after delivery and compensate the customer if the company sends the wrong product.
