Study Plan

Study Plan

Developing a study plan was a key highlight of my journey toward attaining certification. As Fleming (2022) asserts, a plan for action in studying is the first step toward success. After a period of studying using the study plan I developed earlier, I have reinforced my understanding of medications, and it remains one of my strengths. My weakness is still in pediatric diagnoses. I have developed three SMART goals to enable me to have a better mastery of the topic.

My first goal is to shift my reading time to the morning hours when my understanding is optimal. Pallardy (2022) demonstrates that people learn best during their preferred time. I have realized that I understand learned concepts best in the morning hours, and for this reason, I intend to exploit it. My second goal is to allocate more time for studying pediatric diagnoses. Dudley & Burden (2019) confirm that time allocated is directly proportional to excellence. Therefore, I intend to allocate more time to studying pediatric diagnosis. My third goal is to attend group discussions to foster my knowledge of diagnosed children. Group discussion breaks the monotony of individualistic learning and enables a better understanding of concepts (Gogia, 2022). I, therefore, intend to use group discussions more often. I have allocated five hours of my time to studying. Out of the five hours, I have allocated three and a half hours to pediatric diagnoses. This is a 30-minute increase from the previous allocation. I will also join an online discussion every other day for 2 hours. I will measure my progress by evaluating my goals after every three days of study and testing my understanding of concept areas using quizzes and tests.

I will be using several resources while studying. My class notes and textbook will remain my primary sources of references. I will also attend group discussions to evaluate my progress and better understand various concepts. I will also employ the use of videos and other visualization pieces from the library and online sources such as YouTube.
