Strategies for Disseminating Evidence-Based Practice- Building a Culture of Innovation and Excellence
In the healthcare system, many recommendations and guidelines are generated from scientific studies to improve the management of diseases. This is what defines evidence-based practice culture. However, the information fetched from the scientific studies requires dissemination to reach all healthcare professionals to be put into practice (Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt, 2018). Various dissemination strategies exist, including the use of posters, pamphlets, PowerPoint presentations, emails, billboards, television and radio announcements, social media platforms, and online meeting platforms such as Zoom meetings and Skype.
Given the advancement of technology in the current world, I would encourage the use of PowerPoint presentations, zoom, or Skype meetings. PowerPoint presentation is captivating as it involves pictures and brief documentation. Both strategies involve the presenter giving a verbal explanation, which is easy to understand, and in case of clarifications, the audience can directly ask the presenter. Additionally, these strategies can be used remotely and shared online with all the targeted audiences. For instance, in a PowerPoint presentation, the information can be saved and shared using various platforms with the targeted audience. The saved information can later be used as references.
Barriers associated with these strategies include a lack of knowledge on how to use the strategies, internet inaccessibility for downloading the presentation or attending the online meetings, and online device failure (Melnyk, 2012). Consequently, the presenter must be well-trained on how to use the preparation and use the power points. The audience should also be informed on how to log in or join online meetings and be provided with funds to secure stable internet for downloading the presentation.
The strategies that I would least be inclined to use are pamphlets and posters since everyone cannot access pamphlets. Furthermore, to reach a large audience, more resources and costs would be incurred in printing and disseminating the pamphlets (Melnyk et al., 2011). Additionally, posters cannot accommodate all the information required and may not pass the information as required. Besides, posters require a keen audience, and not everyone can get to read them and understand what is required of them.

Question
Discussion: Developing a Culture of Evidence-Based Practice
As your EBP skills grow, you may be called upon to share your expertise with others. While EBP practice is often conducted with unique outcomes in mind, EBP practitioners who share their results can add to the general body of knowledge and advocate for the application of EBP.
In this Discussion, you will explore strategies for disseminating EBP within your organization, community, or industry.
To Prepare:
Review the Resources and reflect on the various strategies presented throughout the course that may be helpful in disseminating effective and widely cited EBP.
This may include unit-level or organizational-level presentations, poster presentations, and podium presentations at organizational, local, regional, state, and national levels, as well as publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Reflect on which type of dissemination strategy you might use to communicate EBP.
By Day 3 of Week 9
Post at least two dissemination strategies you would be most inclined to use and explain why. Explain which dissemination strategies you would be least inclined to use and explain why. Identify at least two barriers you might encounter when using the dissemination strategies you are most inclined to use. Be specific and provide examples. Explain how you might overcome the barriers you identified.
