Romeo and Juliet
Literature entails the art of expressing feelings and emotions as they are. This expression is done by some of the genres in the literature field, such as novels, plays, and short stories. Shakespeare’s artistic work, including plays and poetry, is the most common of his writings that employ the highest artistic qualities in the literature field. Notably, Romeo and Juliet are the most famous William Shakespeare in the world. The play has been a memorable experience because it appeals strongly to us as young people. Despite the fact that the play was composed in another century’s language, the play’s conflicts are timeless. The consuming insistence of Romeo and Juliet’s love and the couple’s ill-fated disobedience to their parents arouse a strong identification sense with the contemporary teenager. Romeo and Juliet is not just a play that people enjoyed during those times, but a play that still retains its joyfulness since the play’s storyline is still applicable to the love of many couples today.
The comedy is organized in a tragic way that made me cry, which portrays William Shakespeare’s artistic talent (Katawazai, 3). He is able to connect all the events in the story as a chain of suspense until it comes to an end. The literary works of William Shakespeare are of high quality to be praised and read in English literature as well as the world’s literature. Particularly, the impacts of the storyline in Romeo and Juliet play are not only relevant in the previous centuries; instead, it is still relevant today. Shakespeare is considered the greatest playwright and a great poet because he used higher artistic and poetic qualities in his works, more so in his play Romeo and Juliet.
Clearly, Romeo and Juliet is an interesting play. The play gave me a practical feeling of sadness and happiness when performed on the theatre stage. Besides watching it practically on the theatre stage, reading the play also gave me a feeling of pleasure, and it is such an enjoyable play to read. Further, in the play, William Shakespeare expressed matters concerning real social life during his time in an interesting way (Katawazai, 4). Within that, Romeo and Juliet employs his higher qualities and is thus an exciting play that talks about social issues that are still relevant today. The comedy evokes an incredible feeling of laughter and pleasure. Similarly, William Shakespeare’s tragedies can make one cry because, in essence, all his literary works use exaggeration; as such, they can make one deeply happy or saddened.
From the beginning of the play, love and hate are in equal measure, which is the case until the end of the play. Therefore, it is noticeable that the play is very interested in contempt as much as it is interested in love. The love tragedy that the main characters, Romeo and Juliet, experience has left a significant impact on everyone who gets to read the play; people discuss it all the time, its artistic qualities, and the controversial issues surrounding the play. Being teenagers, Romeo and Juliet’s love can be analyzed from different angles; some claim that such is a bad example, and some see how well the love story clearly depicts the social issues in real life. Indeed, the play is an interesting book; despite being written a long time ago, it is still applicable to things that happen in the contemporary world.
