Rapid Biohacks for Exceptional Health with Ben Greenfield- Mindvalley Masterclass Trailer is an advertisement by Mindvalley, a Kuala Lumpur-based learning experience firm (Mindvalley, 2021). The company publishes teachings and ideas from leading authors in various fields of personal enhancement. The advert champions a masterclass by a health, fitness, and longevity guru, Ben Greenfield. It features the founder of Mindvalley, Vishen Lakhiani, profiling Ben and listing his credentials and achievements. Vivid pictures and video clips are embedded, showing Ben Greenfield doing some workout exercises. A segment of the two, Vishen and Ben, on-set is briefly included in the advert. The video ends with Vishen impressing upon the viewer to attend the class to learn cutting-edge ideas to improve health, fitness, and longevity.

The advert perfectly uses the rhetoric of persuasion. The three elements – logos, ethos, and pathos – are genially woven into the video (Lutzke & Henggeler, 2009). First, the logos (text) of the advert is well chosen and intelligently argued. The thesis is clear, “to understand how to go into your lean years gracefully.” The class is about living well, living longer, and aging gracefully. The argument is logical; it has flow and well-thought order. It appeals to reason.

Secondly, the credibility of the guest teacher, Ben Greenfield, is wholly connected to the topic. From educational qualifications to personal experiences, all point to Ben knowing and understanding the science of longevity. The diction used in the advert is appealing to the viewer. Additionally, the host graphically and verbally vouches for Ben. The credibility of the host works in favour of the guest. The prolific achievements of Vishen and his company support Ben’s credibility. The tone used by Vishen in the video is appropriate and appealing to the viewer. The video is also professionally produced and polished.
