In the space below, identify approaches your group tried that worked well and explain why they were effective.

One of the successful approaches from our group was sharing the selected topics early in the week. This approach was successful as it allowed the middle managers and workers time to research the identified issues effectively and prepare detailed essays.

A second approach was active participation in the group discussion. This approach was practical as it allowed other team members to provide feedback and guidance on a member’s group posts and roles.

In the space below, identify approaches your group tried that did not work well and explain why they were ineffective.

One of the ineffective approaches was to force assign roles to team members who didn’t participate in the initial role assignment discussion. For example, Zoe was given the role of a middle manager in absentia. This approach was ineffective as a member’s inactivity could have been unavailability. The absentia “assigned” role created confusion in the group as team members kept waiting for Zoe’s contribution, leading to the team reorganizing itself midway.

The second ineffective approach was assuming each member understood the assignment requirements and that all that was required was assigning roles. This approach was ineffective as some members didn’t fully understand what was needed, leading to delays and incorrect deliverables.

How can you improve your contributions to the group’s goals and processes in future team projects?

In future team projects, to improve my contribution, I’ll allocate more time each day to work on the group project. This will ensure that I do more research on the project, enhancing my understanding of the group project and associated concepts.

In addition, I’ll contribute more to the group and encourage the sharing of ideas among team members. This will also work towards better understanding the project through brainstorming.
