Outsourcing

Outsourcing

Outsourcing is viewed as a business practice involving services or job functions hired out to a third party on a contract or ongoing basis (Overby, 2022). Outsourcing jobs can assist  American businesses with competing by ensuring their prices are kept low, but there are negatives involved with it as well. For example, it affect the employment in a negative way.

America has lost jobs to China, Mexico, India, and other countries with lower wage standards. Businesses outsourcing domestically have also increased their reliance on freelancers and temporary and part-time workers. Also, robots have replaced some American workers (Kelly, Amadeo, & Rubin, 2022). There is no easy fix to this situation, and imposing laws to restrict the outsourcing of jobs artificially could cause companies in the United States to become less competitive. If they are forced to hire expensive workers in the United States, prices and the cost for consumers would also increase.

Some of the pros involve with outsourcing is that it increases efficiency, variable capacity, lower costs, increase flexibility, accelerated time to market, reducer ongoing investment in internal infrastructure, access to innovation, etc. Some cons involved included slower turnaround time, lack of business or domain knowledge, language, cultural barriers, time zone differences, and the lack of control (Overby, 2022).

I believe that outsourcing has been a driver for the continued existence of organized labor. For example, I cut work costs by reducing compensation, expanding workforces, and moving adaptability expenses to laborers. Also, the aim may not drive the more significant part of outsourcing decision-making, and businesses are likely to be affected by the adjustments in organization limits.

In countries such as India, the Philippines, and Indonesia, the outsourcing business blossomed and provided a path to the large size of organized labor.
