Outdoor Experience Description

Outdoor Experience Description

As I walked through the open market, I could hear noises made by different sellers and buyers as they perused through various items. This day was my first time experiencing or interacting with such an environment. Everyone was busy advertising their product or buying a product they had already selected. As I walked deeper into the market, the air was filled with the delicious aroma of meat being fried. The smell was so vivid you would think that the whole market was frying meat. The fried meat came from different animals, including chicken and fish. As I further explored the market, I felt that I needed to discover more and understand the market more. I stopped at one of the stalls selling fried meat and was offered a piece to taste. My friends had told me that the meat at the open-air market was so delicious that I would go there every day. Therefore, I needed to know whether the claims made by friends were justified. The meat did fail to meet my expectations; it was delicious and mouth-watering, and I felt that I needed to get more. I bought some for myself and my siblings at home. I went ahead and explored other areas of the market, including the clothes, groceries, and shoes, and discovered new items that I had never seen before. The market experience was exhilarating and pleasant since I enjoyed the interaction I had with the traders. I promised most of them that I would come back again because their products were great. I found out that businesses in open-air markets were done differently from how it is in cities. The experience was exciting, and I wished that I could have more time to meet different traders. Nevertheless, I have provided an elaborate experience that I had during my visit to an open-air market. The experience was excellent.

Question

Outdoor Experience Description – Detail a real or imaginary experience walking through an outdoor event or activity, such as a zoo, open-air market, festival, etc.

You only need to develop one paragraph for this assignment, but it should include many sensory details and directional transitions. Start with a topic sentence, which will also serve as the thesis statement that explains the exhibition you are experiencing and mentions how the adventure ignites your senses. In the sentences following, describe your journey. What do you see? Hear?

Outdoor Experience Description

Feel? Smell? Taste? Where are these experiences located (directional transitions)? To the right? Just above? The reader should be able to build the environment around you and participate in the sensory experience you illustrate as he or she reads along, so be as descriptive as necessary, touching upon all five senses within the body paragraph. Finally, complete your paragraph with a concluding sentence summarizing your outing, and make sure it has a point! In other words, what did you take away from this excursion?

Sample thesis statement: As I walk toward the Brookfield Zoo entrance gate for my first zoo experience, I notice a flurry of lively activity in front of me; so on my way to the gorilla den, I can feel my excitement building, and as I get closer, the sounds and smells strengthen, making the chill of my cold beverage much more apparent; I hope I am ready for this.

Notes

You can use past or present tense verbs to describe your experience in this assignment, but avoid unnecessary tense shifts.

In addition to directional transitions, be sure to use standard transitions between sentences where applicable so that your ideas are fluid from start to finish.
