NSG6101 Week 10 Discussion

NSG6101 Week 10 Discussion

The course deliverables allowed learners to expand their skills in diverse clinical and research areas. The learning processes provided in the course have widened my perspectives on nursing. I got to critically analyze contemporary practices through the lens of problem-solving, identifying apparent gaps and detailing potential address interventions: NSG6101 Week 10 Discussion.

The deliverable on translating research into clinical decision-making required nurses to be able to analyze and evaluate scientific studies. Through the course, I interacted with and analyzed diverse nursing research. I am confident in appraising research studies and integrating the findings into my clinical decision-making processes. In evidence-based practice, where clinical decisions are based on scientific findings, Nurse practitioners must have the skills to critique and base their practice on research (Connor et al., 2023).

The third course deliverable on proposal development required that the learners have an understanding of the research processes and develop a proposal that addresses an identified healthcare problem. This outcome was met. Through the course, I was able to develop a solution-oriented research proposal focused on the healthcare gap identified. Through the process, I gathered insight into the best practices for writing a research thesis, formulating research questions, and the language to use when writing a proposal. I am now confident in developing and writing a research proposal.

Investigating ethical issues related to the conduct of scientific research and exploring initiatives on research priorities were the other deliverables identified in the course. I was able to meet these outcomes. The course expanded my capacity to investigate and address ethical concerns in clinical research. In this respect, I was able to take measures to mitigate ethical concerns, such as informed consent, and even drafted an informed consent note to be presented to the institutional review board.
