Moving Company Business Venture
Hello. Welcome to my presentation on my moving company business venture.
I will focus on creating a successful moving services business venture. The business’ operating model will include local moving, packing services, long-distance moving, and delivery services. Essentially, local moving will involve transport and packing services for local relocations within a state or the same area. Packing services will include safely packing items to prepare for relocation or storage. Long-distance moving will include cross-state relocations. Delivery services will only be offered for large items such as furniture. However, smaller items can be delivered if the truck is relocating a client to the specified item destination.
According to Wodecki (2018), the value proposition is vital in creating a competitive advantage by attracting and retaining customers. The moving company will propose value to its customers by offering high-quality services, affordable services, confidentiality, and professionalism. The quality of services will be enhanced by ensuring that customer specifications are met and that the required services are delivered in a timely manner, handling customer items with care, and guaranteeing the safety of customers’ items by acknowledging liability for item damage or loss during relocation. The affordability of the company’s services will be enhanced by setting low prices for premium services. Confidentiality will be maintained by signing a non-disclosure agreement with clients to prevent sharing personal information such as their addresses and possessions. Finally, professionalism will be maintained by signing a contract outlining the company’s terms and acknowledging liability for any issues that arise due to the negligence of the company’s staff.
The main customer segments for the moving venture will be middle-income households relocating to another region, offices relocating to other office spaces, healthcare facilities relocating to another location, people looking for packing services for product storage or transportation, and people looking for transportation services for furniture, electronics, utensils, and clothes. The items have been selected because there are fewer transport restrictions within and across states, thus reducing relocation technicalities. Other items not in this category will only be transported during relocations, not deliveries.
