Moon Journal Week 3

Moon Journal Week 3

Monday, September 30 at 7:43 pm

Thoughts: On this day, the sky was clear. Although I could not see the moon, I enjoyed the view of the gradient of colors, including a transition from soft blue to indigo as the night progressed. This view evoked my curiosity about the sky and the celestial objects that appear at different times during the night and how ancient civilizations used celestial objects for navigation on nights when most objects may not be visible.

Questions: What factors contribute to the moon’s absence in the sky? What would I like to know about using celestial bodies for navigation?

Thoughts: The moon was still not visible on this night. However, the stars were visible, allowing me to focus on the Orion constellation, which could be identified due to the three aligned stars in the sky that formed Orion’s belt. This view made me think about the Milky Way and the childhood lullaby linked to it, which evoked some of my favorite childhood memories.

Questions: Do constellations influence seasons? What is the significance of the Orion in different cultures?

Thoughts: The moon was also hidden on this day. However, I could see scattered clouds moving slowly across the sky and several bright stars. Staring at the sky made me wonder about the formation of clouds and how they align to create patterns in the sky.

Questions: Does the movement of the earth influence the shape of clouds? Why do clouds appear to be moving towards the same direction across the sky?

Thoughts: The moon was not visible on this day. The clear sky offered a beautiful view to reflect on my life and what I intend to do in the future. Staring at the shooting stars in the sky gave me a feeling of excitement because my mother always told me that shooting stars bring good luck.

Questions: What are the cultural beliefs linked to shooting stars? Is it true that making a wish after seeing a shooting star increases the chances of it coming true?

Question

OKAY SO THIS WEEK THE MOON WAS NOT VISIBLE AT ALL MY PROFESSOR SAID THE DAYS WE CAN’T SEE THE MOON TO JUST DISCUSS WHAT WE SEE IN THE SKY SINCE THERE IS NO MOON YOU CAN JUST DISCUSS WHAT YOU SEE IN THE SKY NOT THE MOON AND WRITE OUT THOUGHTS BASED ON THAT AND COME UP WITH QUESTIONS. I UPLOADED MY SECOND MOON JOURNAL FOR WEEK 2 SO YOU CAN DO IT EXACTLY LIKE THAT AGAIN. THIS WEEK HAS TO BE FOUR ENTIRIES.

PROFESSOR INSTRUCTIONS: Continue to journal and observe 4 times during the week

Specifically:

For this week, start describing the exact details of the moon. What exactly do you see? What properties do you notice? If you don’t see the moon, what else do you see in the sky? Keep up the fabulous work, everyone!
