One of the things that I took away from this chapter is the importance of reflection. Typically, reflection enables instructors to enhance their teaching capacity. Additionally, it helps them meet the learner needs in the classrooms (Burden et al. 10). I believe that meeting the student needs is the foundation for creating sharp students. Additionally, reflective instruction can potentially improve teachers’ learning regarding teaching and comprehending class occurrences. Even more important is the fact that reflection helps instructors develop self-directed critical thinking abilities. It also helps them develop the inclination to question, take learning skills, and attempt novel methods and concepts. As such, I will always effectively reflect and establish the characteristics of reflective instructors. Examples of these characteristics are having a disposition toward reflection and seeking deep comprehension of problems.
